Title: Can't connect to db running install.php
Post by: hooper on September 21, 2004, 03:02:40 PM
Running the install and get this.

I'm running Expression Engine and am going to integrate CPG with it.

After doing all the prereq stuff.  I fill in the install form correctly and get.  Yes I have tested and verified the db works.

"Could not create a mySQL connection, please check the SQL values entered
MySQL error was : Access denied for user: 'rhubka_rhubka@localhost' (Using password: YES)"

Thought - My shared hosting package forces database names and user names to have an under-score character which can be seen in the above message.  Because this is not alpha numeric I feel this may be the problem.  Does the install script reject my db name or UID becasuse of the under-score?

Nope, underscores are permissable.

So much for my theory.
Well then...  I must have screwed up the PW.

Yup...  I did...  I'm an idiot...  (Or at least my wife thinks so ;D)

Coppermine installed fine.  Looks good.  Now for some fun!!!!

Thanks for your quick response
