Title: I've downloaded it, now what?
Post by: loonylaura on October 08, 2004, 04:02:09 PM
Hi, I'm new to all this downloading stuff so I'd really like to know what I should do next.

I've downloaded it to the desktop & I'd really like to have it on my website but I'm guessing you don't just copy & paste a load of HTML into the place where you want it-this is how new I am to downloading! :(

Do I need to save it onto a floppy disc seeing as I'm on a public computer?

Please help!

You wouldn't be able to save the zipped file to a floppy because it is 2+ MB.

If you unzip the file, total size for files/folders will be 7+ MB, so you would have to use several floppies.

Please make sure to read the documents in the docs folder, and do a search in the forums, and read the stickies. Chances are, others have faced the same challenges as you.

you need a webserver that has the minimum requirements (PHP, mySQL, either GD or ImageMagick). You need some ftp software to upload the files to your webspace. Often webhosts give ftp software to you, or advise you to use a particular free software. When in doubt, contact your webhost, or read your webhost's documentation on uploading stuff.
