Title: GD + GIF problems

Below is the GD information from my server, when i use the phpinfo(); function Its says that gug read and write are supported but when i try and upload a *.gif image i get an error , can anyone tell me why

Gif write support in GD is only available in the very latest version of GD, as until June this year, copyright issues meant it was not supported, and most webhosts have not upgraded yet.

So coppermine was set up without support for gif images when using GD.  This is being addressed with full support in the next version.  I beleive there has been posts explaining how to overcome this restriction with the current versions, please search.
