Hi,

I'm very new at this. Like many others :D
Silly question. Ho do I run/launch php?

One of the requirements of running coppermine is to already have php and mysql set up. You can get a webhost that provides php and mysql.

...in other words: you (as an individual without webserver administration experience) can't "launch" PHP at all.
