Just switched to another server, servage.net/ so next step will be them.

Sounds to me like its a server side problem. When a install has run just fine and the index.php won't come up but instead gives you a error like this it's likely to be a server problem. Index.php is not such a big heavy file to load.
Does the other server respond well ?
