Title: giving permissions to different - not all - albums
Post by: beissel on December 27, 2004, 11:05:26 PM
Hi everybody,
I want to set up my gallery with differenf users.
For example, if user "Peter" is logged in, he should see Album A, B, D, F but not C or E
I also want to have albums free to see for everybody. Albums with certain permissions must not be displayed on the index-Page. You may know that there is another gallery system out there with a complete user management but I like Coppermine better. Is there a mod for a user management already around? I couldn't find anything which comes close to my request.
Thanks for your help, thanks for your great work!
Chris

Please read the documentation; link is available at the top of the page.

We are aware that there are several gallery scripts out there :D. Only three of them are a match for coppermine: menalto gallery, 4images and Photopost (which is not free, but a commercial app), but of course there can be no doubt what our favorite gallery app is ;). Coppermine has user management and permissions, that's why TranzNDance was suggesting you read the docs.

Aaaargh... tough I thought I read the documentation I now found what I was looking for in the private album section. Before I thought this refers only to give users the opportunity to create own albums. I didn't expect the entire user management behind this one switch. Now I turned it on and everything is ok :-)
Thank you all!
