Title: Freewebs Installation
Post by: Ariel on December 30, 2004, 09:45:17 AM
Um, I want to intall Coppermine on a freewebs server, and it will only let me upload the files one at a time, and not the whole folder by itself. So, nothing will be in subfolders, just all the files in one place. Will it still work? I'd appreciate any help.  :)

Can you upload a zip/gz and extract on the server, or use an FTP client to do multiple uploads?

If not, it would be a mess to have all the files in one folder.

That's the 'cost' of having a 'free' server if you have such a limitation.

coppermine will definitely not work if you try to upload all files into the root folder. A free webserver with such harsh limitations certainly doesn't qualify to run coppermine, they probably don't have the minimum requirements anyway (like php, mysql and gd or ImageMagick). However, there's a thread that deals with free webhosts that have the minimum reuirements, see http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=5721.0
