Title: Registered user can't create new album
Post by: longtail on January 23, 2005, 11:31:06 PM
Hi there

Newbie to coppermine, and overall I'm pretty impressed with it, and am getting my head round it. I've done a search to try and find this answer, and from what I've read am I correct in saying that a Registered user cannot create a new album to upload his/her files to, without it being a personal album?

Essentially my situation is that I was intending having one admin user (me!) and several custom 'approved users', along with the standard registered users. My 'approved users' will be requiring to upload into an 'Events' category every few weeks, with a new album for each event, but as they are not fully PC literate I didn't want to give them full admin rights, just in case! Is there a way that they can create this album within the 'Events' category or can they only create the albums within their user folder, which can then get changed/redirected by admin?

Thanks in advance

Stuart

no, regular users can not create albums in public categories, only the admin can. I suggest you create the albums for them and then setup permissions for them to upload there. You mustn't make them admins, they will certainly break the gallery!
