Title: make db 1st?

once i uploaded the gallery

do i create a mysql database 1st or run the install.php or what
im lost  :-[

Have you read the instructions yet?  Also, is this in any way related to your other post?

yea simular to other post

i have read the instructions but didnt work that way so juust wanted to make sure that the install.php will make its own database then  i upload the sql files to it?

your DATABASE needs to be created before attempting to run install.php

The first thing that will be requested is the database name and the user/password with rights to that database during install.

You don't need any tables or any structure in that database because install.php will automatically create all the tables and insert default values.

k done all that
when i entered the correct details in install
with default localhost

get

The following errors were encountered and need to be corrected first:

mySQL Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'Array' at line 1

and on versioncheck.php

Fatal error :
There was an error while processing a database query

someone else just recently posted with that error and the problem was that all of the Coppermine files weren't uploaded to the webhost properly.

Re-upload, if the problem persists search the board for that error message.

k it seems that i been puting in the incorrect database password

although now i`am looking for where i can find the password for the database in plesk.

if you're not sure, ask your webhost - they should know.
