Ok, I have phpBB and I am limited technically as I am not a coder, but know enough to create my own forum and image gallery. I have upgraded my website which requires me to down my current site and re-upload the new site, but I was able to back up the database for my phpBB, but do not know how to do the same for my coppermine image gallery. I am currently at least ftp'ing all my site's files to my hard drive, but I am in fear of losing if I do not do this right.
Any help in telling me what to do to capture my coppermine database files so I can move them to a new server TODAY? March 1, 2005
You can dump the database to a file for download using any db admin tool, such as phpmyadmin.
I'm gonna do the same thing in a few days. Just got a separate domain+host for the gallery. So all I do is upload the files to new host as usual, import database. And that's it? Do I have to change the settings anywhere else? Thanks.
Yes, edit config.inc.php if the database login has changed. Then you should change the ecard target in Config to point to your gallery
