I've got a big bunch of photos (200+). I've gone through them all, and wrote up descriptions and keyworded them, and what I'd like to do is have multiple albums based off selected photos from the master set.
For example - let's say I've got a photo that is keyworded with the words 'funny' and 'dog'. I'd love to be able to set up a 'funny' album, and have everything that's got the word 'funny' as a keyword appear in it. That same shot could also appear in a 'dog' album, if I'd decided to make one.
I don't care if I'd have to go through each shot and add it to the album(s) manually - although if it were automate-able that'd rock.
The only workaround I've come up with is to make symbolic links of the files I want to exist in more than one place, but the copies/linked files don't keep the descriptions or keywords.
Does that make sense? Is something like that at all possible?
Any clues would be much appreciated.
thanks!
What a coinkidink, that feature will be available in the next version. The albums use keywords.
You can see a preview of 1.4 at the bottom of my signature. The 'portfolio' album consists of only keyworded images that exist in other albums.
Wow, that looks teriffic!
You wouldn't happen to have an ETA for the next version's release now, would you? :)
If it's soon, I'll wait before sending out my site announcement...
thanks!
The stable release is not coming soon. We are currently preparing to release a beta version which is not recommended for production use since we still have to work out issues. I would suggest you use a stable version for your gallery and upgrade once 1.4 is ready.
