I have uploaded a custom thumbnail for my video albums and it shows up fine as a thumb preview. However I dont want it to show as a picture in the actual album itself when a user clicks to see the album. I just want them to see the various video files. Can a picture be hidden but still used as a thumbnail?

you were meant to ftp-upload the custom thumbnail file to the folder that contains your video, you were not meant to add it to coppermine's database (using http uploads or batch-add). Review the process - re-read the docs: http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/manual.php#cust_thmb

I uploaded the custom thumbnail to the folder using the batch add. I put 2 videos and 1 thumbnail in a folder and ftp'd them in a folder and then batch added them. the thumbnail now shows as the 2 video previews and the thumbnail itself also shows up. I dont want 3 thumbails becuase only 2 are movies
I also dont mind if the wmv icon/mov icon is there, I just want a way to put a thumbnail in the level above it in the preview thumbnail. is there a way to do that without that thumbnail showing up in the video folder too?
You have to upload the custom thumbnail via FTP, not the batch add process. Name the file thumb_( your move file name ).jpg.
I did that and it worked fine and it showed up as the thumb for the preview and as the thumb for the movies but it also still shows up as its own unique clickable image in that album too. I have 3 things in that album now: 1 wmv, 1 mov and 1 jpg, all clickable to view. I just want the movies.
ok got it, it worked now, thanks a lot
