how to put a simple navigation table on the left side of index page, or including the forum on the index page. just a simple forum...whiic when i clikck on it it opens in the same window as the galery is...

template.html for the position of the navigation, theme.php for the content and looks of the navigation. Take a look at the source code of some sample themes in the demo, e.g. the fruity (http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/demo/index.php?theme=fruity) theme or transmission (http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/demo/index.php?theme=transmission)

P.S. You're refering to the term "forum", but coppermine is a gallery app, not a forum
