Title: external linking from albums out to url's
Post by: MstrMitch on March 23, 2005, 08:03:34 AM
ok I actually did a search for this but could not find any relevant help content. here is my situation:

I want to upload images into a category and then make those single thumbnail images clickable to outside url's. I do not want the thumbnails to be loaded onto a new page and enlarged. I merely want them to be able to link to an external page. can this or something similar be done.

Files don't go into categories.  Files go into albums, and albums are assigned to categories.

As for your question, Coppermine doesn't do anything like that.  Sounds like you want to do a links page using Coppermine instead of a photo gallery.

you are correct in your termonolgy, I was innacurate. yes I want the thumbnails to be able to be clickable to external sites. Similar to a links page but not exactly. I posted a follow up question on a similar topic that you replied to. That was asking can thumbnails in various albums in 1 category not be clickable at all. Can their titles ie "sarah" "jessica" etc be clickable to external pages.(you indicated in that other post that there was a bbcode that could do this but the thumbnails would still be clickable and confuse people as to what to click) What I have is a bunch of pictures and video that I am using coppermine with, but I also have external content that I want to link to as well. I would prefer to use coppermine as the main page and source for everything if possible and then people can go out from there to wherever they want. I truly appreciate your help.
