Title: problems with umlauts

good morning

i hve a big problem on my site (cpg v. 1.3.2)

all umlauts (aöü) displays a "?". (Alben-��bersicht-->Alben-Übersicht).
is this a german browser problem?

can anyone help me?

looks like you have a problem with your templates, or init.inc.php.. something is outputting some bogus characters before the doctype which is fouling up my browser.

@ronan: stop deleting the postings you made so far. They stay on the board for reference. Removing them is selfish. I'm pretty sure you already posted a similar question like this one, probably in the thread I'm refering to (I just deleted it, as it's useless now that you edited it) >:(

i have only upload the gallery and select my language. no changes in the templates.

get the most recent language files from the web cvs (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/coppermine/stable/lang/) and try again.

Is going from utf-8 encoding to "regular" language files not an option for you?

P.S. In firefox, set encoding like this (German version): "Ansicht" - "Zeichenkodierung" - "Automatisch bestimmen" - "universell"

i have created a category and a album. "äöü" works! only in the buttons from the gallery doesn't works the umlauts. anyone have a idea?

yeah, it works now!

i have upload the gallery with fetch 4.0.3 under mac osx 10.3.8...the umlauts are wrong

i have upload the gallery with cute ftp under windows xp..the umlauts are correct


it is a ftp-client problem?

Update: it is a fetch problem. same files, uploadet with ftp-client "transmit" under osx, no umlauts problems now
