Title: linking to specific albums from website
Post by: frrogoy on November 21, 2003, 03:16:58 PM
I want to link directly to specific albums (or categories) via buttons on a website.
I'd like anonymous users to be able to view the pictures without logging in.
Can this be done? Didn't see it in the FAQ or documentation...

No need to have this in the faq: this is the default behaviour when you install coppermine: all pics are available for all users (anonymous or not). If you haven't changed the permission settings to have some private albums everyone can access your albums. You can link any cat or album with the url that is shown in the address bar in your browser (e.g. http://www.craftspirit.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=1 ); This is something that you could have found out for your self, why ask?

You only have to take care of individual pics, as they depend on the sorting order the use has chosen (use the "absolute" link that is shown in pic info section for linking an individual pic; for example http://craftspirit.com/gallery//displayimage.php?pos=-1 instead of http://www.craftspirit.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=0 ).

Thanks for your help, and please excuse my ignorance. I'm new to Coppermine and did read all the documentation and FAQs. I didn't see anywhere how to interface from your website or link to the albums. I must have missed it somewhere...
