Title: Hotlinking problem
Post by: MillaMeter on May 24, 2005, 02:49:22 PM
I'll get straight to the point...

I have a coppermine gallery and some people keep hotlinking my images. Is there a way to maybe randomly change the name of the files each week or something, anything to stop these people taking my bandwidth. The images are desktop wallpapers, so there's no point in saying "Use a no right mouse click script" because these images needs to have that feature to save or set as background. Just need something to change the file names.

Any ideas  ???
Thanks

You need to set up hotlink protection. Ask your webhost how it can be done since the method may vary on systems.
