I just installed cpg 1.2 on my solaris server.
I login as a registered user and try to change my album's properties.

How come the album category line can't be change?

I have the same problem. I am looking for an answer as well with this issue. can anyone help?
the issue is the user unable to select another category other than "User Gallery"

This is by design and can't be changed: "user galleries" are a category - a user can't move his albums anywhere else. If you want the user to be able to upload to an album within a non-"user gallery" category, you'll have to modify the groups settings and album properties accordingly.
