Title: GoDaddy says Unable to write config file 'include/config.inc.php'
Post by: JS_n_J on June 23, 2005, 08:58:04 PM
I am also having problems installing Coppermine on GoDaddy.

the error message is:  Unable to write config file 'include/config.inc.php'

when trying to start Coppermine for the first time.

I have installed coppermine to a folder called Gallery, and have enabled GoDaddy's Web, Read, Write "attributes" for this and the gallery\album and gallery\include folders.

I have used the host name  mysql55.secureserver.net  provided by GoDaddy and the dB name, user name and password of the SQL database that I have created.

I appreciate any tips and words of wisdom on this topic

Aloha

Not certain, but I think you need to ftp to your site and chmod the file to 777 and then, after completing the install, chmod it back to what the docs say it should be (644?).

ping mysql55.secureserver.net in the run field of your computer to get ip address

Thanks for the suggestion...

I tried it but got this:

ping mysql55.secureserver.net

Pinging hmysql13-04.prod.mesa1.secureserver.net [10.0.6.161] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 10.0.6.161:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

I'll keep trying!

I also tried this, but got the message "This server does not support changing file permissions"

I also used Leech FTP

Any suggestions on what ftp program I can use to change permissions?

There may be some web-based file admin tool available. Ask GoDaddy.
