I have a question: is there a "simple" way to move the fullsize pictures to another directory after batch add? For example, in the albums directory I have:
pictures_dir
--big_pictures_dir
I put via FTP fullsize pictures in the pictures_dir, I run the batch add wizard and the thumbs and the intermediate pictures generated by Coppermine stay in pictures_dir and fullsize pictures are moved to big_pictures_dir.
It could be a secure way of preventing non-registered users from stealing the original pictures - the big_pictures_dir may be easily protected by .htaccess

Please search before posting. Coppermine does not move pictures around, and you are not to move pictures around after adding them to your gallery.
I know that Coppermine does not do it, but I think it's a good idea to include that function into it.
If you disable the fullsize pop-up and use the download mod with a changed path to the folder with original pictures (moved from the upload directory to the special directory) , it'll be more secure than it is now...
There are no plans to do any such protection for the current release. I'm researching a better system for a later 1.4.x and perhaps 1.5, but it does not include moving files around at all or applying any current mods. If you apply htaccess to prevent access, you then cannot use a standard <img> tag to fetch the image. There are ways to fetch files from protected directories or directories outside of the document root, but this isn't a quick or easy task.
When this new system is ready, it will be deployed.
