Title: Blonde problems with batch upload
Post by: creech on August 09, 2005, 06:51:32 AM
VER: 1.3.3
WIN XP

I AM TRYING TO BATCH UPLOAD VIA WS_FTP PRO TO THE 'ALBUMS' DIR.  IT APPEARS THAT I HAVE SUCESSEFULLY DONE THIS, AS IT SHOWS IN THAT FOLDER ON THE SITE AND THE .JPG FILES ARE THERE.

I HAVE THE PROPERTIES IN MY FTP TO 775 BECAUSE OF ANOTHER ERROR (THAT I FOUND OUT HOW TO FIX IN THIS FORUM).

WHEN I GO TO BATCH UPLOAD, IT SHOWS THE FILE.  I SELECT THE FILE, AND ALL APPEAR TO DO SOMETHING BUT STILL NO PICS IN THE ALBUM I SENT IT TO.

I AM ATTACHING THE DEBUG THING TO THIS.  SO FOR THOSE WHO WOULD TELL ME TO READ THE DIRECTIONS, I REALLY HAVE BUT CANNOT FIGURE THIS OUT.  I CAN SEND STUFF OVER ONE PIC AT A TIME, BUT I WILL NEED TO SEND A BUNCH AT ONCE SINCE I HAVE A LOT OF STUFF TO POST (RACING PHOTOS FROM EACH RACE), AND IT WOULD TAKE FOREVER TO DO IT THAT WAY.

ANY ASSIST WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, BUT PLEASE MAKE IT SIMPLE FOR ME.  I AM A ROOKIE AND BLONDE TO BOOT.

UM.. ALSO I CAN'T FIND WHERE THE DIRECTIONS ARE FOR WHAT ELSE I WAS SUPPOSED TO PUT IN THE INITIAL QUESTION TO HELP PEOPLE HELP ME.

AGAIN, THANKS FOR ANY POSTIVE HELP YOU CAN GIVE.

I have read the tutorial/directions.  This did not solve the issue.  No intention to offend anyone by my typing style was intended, you, GauGau however, seem to thrive on being rude.  Have you considered meds?

Anyway, insults aside, I still am unable to solve this issue, does anyone have any fix for the batch upload problem that I am having?

Assistance would be greatlly appreciated.

1.) I would not recommened insulting the project manager. That's never a good thing.

2.) When you batch-upload images, on the right side of the screen after you start the batch upload process, there should be one of three icons letting you know if the image was successfully placed in an album. Are you able to see these status icons?

3.) Post a link to your site with a test username/password so that we can help you debug it.

Thank You for your response.

1) My intention is not to be rude to anyone, but I do not expect others to be overtly rude when it is not justified.  Persons in a position of power/responsiblity, should not abuse this.  As I am in this position at many times in my life, I too am sometimes very frustrated with a lack of understanding from people asking for help who obviously are clueless (and will probably remain that way).  However, I am never rude without provacation.  My thought was to treat a touchy situation with some humor; evidently I am the only one who was amused.  Apology extended for anyome who was offended.

2) When I batch uploaded the images, on the right side of the screen, after the batch upload process, there was only one icon, the one for a picture holder with an x in the middle.  I did see the status icon descriptions at the bottom of the page, but they did not seem to apply to my situation (where none of the status indicators were visable).

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
