Title: Batch upload, am I doing something wrong?
Post by: stock on August 21, 2005, 03:56:42 AM
I've just switched from ftp to Batch upload and can't believe one thing about this. I have hundreds of pix to upload yet I cannot move them once uploaded into a fresh folder called 'uploaded' or they don't show on site. This means that whenever I do another upload, ALL pix in the upload folder show, though only the new ones are checked . Can this be right? This means that I might have to trawl down a list of a hundred pix to find a few new ones.

Am I doing something wrong or can I change the path for the image??

Thanks for help

You FTP your images to any subdirectory you create (not /edit or /userpics) in the /albums directory, then batch add them.  If files already exist in the database, they are not selected - only files that aren't in the gallery are automatically selected.  If you don't want to scroll thru a bunch of existing files, make another subdirectory and put your images in that one.  You do not touch the files once they have been added to the gallery.

Kebobeer,

yes, am having to go in and recreate the whole structure again. The thing is, I had it set up to mirror the site structure with all the sub albums, etc, so when batching, all these would show up with all the contents. So not a good idea this, best to just have a simple structure. It would be good to be able to change the path nonetheless, in line with other software. Just an idea.

Thanks for your quick reply.
