Title: Very strange message!
Post by: hphannah on August 21, 2005, 10:39:39 PM
I was uploading pictures yesterday (i am the main admin, and i just go to upload file and upload around 5 at a time) and then all of a sudden i get this message.

Warning: opendir(./albums/edit): failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/photogallery/upload.php on line 409

I haven't been into my cpg files in a long time. And the uploading worked just yesterday! I'm not sure how to solve it. Can anyone help?

I've looked in the FAQ, and didn't find it, although i didn't look incredibly hard. But if you can help me or tell me where I can find the answer, it would be greatly appreciated. :)

Create the albums/edit folder that it wants and chmod it to 777/755. Please update your gallery and search the board before posting.

I'm a little bit confused. If i log in, where do I go to change it to 777? Does chmod it mean, move it? I'm so sorry, please don't yell at me, I'm not that great at this coppermine stuff. :\

And is it very hard to update your gallery?

And yes, i apologize, I should read more carefully. :\

You can CHMOD the files / directories via your ftp-program, remote console, or maybe via the webpanel provided by your hoster.

This depends on your skills. I would say: "No, it is not difficult."
Please read the update instructions included in the most recent coppermine distribution, or browse the board fo a manual.

oh, alright. :)
I'm so sorry, but what files do you change to 777? I'm going to do it through FTP.

Well, I should point ya to the FAQ and the tut, but ...  ;D

Change the folders permissions to 0777 and the files to 0666.
Check the settings via the 'settings' buttion in Ur gallery, if there are the right values set as default as well.

Well, I don't know your FTP-program, so I can't tell you how to use it - sorry - read the documentation of your FTP-program.
The paths / files U need to change the permissions of are mentioned above.

What the heck is going on? I"m so confused right now. I have no idea what I am changing. Why did it mess up in the first place. I'm so sorry.

and plus i have been through every one of the html files (through the control board that came with my domain) and I don't see a thing that says permissions, or CHMOD in it. I just want to get this so I can upload pictures again so I can update my site!

ask your webhost for support, or get another FTP client. We can't solve this issue for you, especially as you didn't post any details at all. We're no clairvoyants.
