Title: automatic delete of the original pics
Post by: dirk_b on December 03, 2003, 08:52:50 PM
hi @ all.
first i want to excuse me for my bad english.

i have a limeted webspace (30 mb) so i cannot save the original pics on my webspace because they are often bigger than 1 mb.
is there a possibility that the script automatic delete the orginals pics after making the thumbs and the preview pics?
If this is successful, where can i delete the link to the orginal-pic? In the theme.php?

Thx for yur help.
Dirk

if you're the only one who is allowed to upload pics (should be the case, as you can't run some community site on such a small webspace account), you should resize the pics on your client (your pc) before uploading them - the result will be less upload time, better quality of thumbs and intermediates and less things to worry about. As a rule of thumb, your pics shouldn't be bigger than 100 KB (unless you run a wallpaper page or something like that).
To answer your question: there's no built-in mechanism to let coppermine delete the full-size pics on upload, but I think someone has made this into a mod, search the board for it (and search the old board as well).
