Title: Removing thumbnails
Post by: stormwatcher on September 02, 2005, 01:51:43 AM
Hello,

I'm very new to the Coppermine Gallery. I've uploaded videos to my gallery, with the thumbnails to go with them. When I go to the album(s) where the videos are, it shows both the video thumbnail and the thumbnail for the actual picture I uploaded to be the thumbnail. Is there anyway to not show the .jpg file? I tried deleting it, but then I don't get a thumbnail view for the actual video.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Mary

Have you followed the directions for custom thumbnails?

Example:

FTP video.mpg and thumb_video.jpg to /albums/myuploads/
Batch add from /myuploads/
You will see video.mpg with your custom thumb.

You must FTP the custom thumbnail - you can't upload it via the web interface.

Hello Keg,

Thanks for replying. I thought I followed the directions. I have 3 different albums that contain videos. I made a folder for each album in the /album. That is where I uploaded the videos and .jps to. For example, in the folder Carly, I have a video called carlysfirstmeal.wmv and a matching pic called carlysfirstmeal.jpg. I did the batchupload and put them in the Carly album. It matched the pic to the video fine. It's just that it also shows the picture as something you can select to view.

Did I do it wrong?

Thanks again for your time,

Mary

You did it wrong.  Read the custom thumbnail directions again and look at my previous post again.  If your video is named video.mpg, your thumbnail is named thumb_video.jpg.
