Title: replacing pictures

I am replacing my pictures with smaller versions. is it okay just to replace the originals on the server and will Coppermine just updates the thumbnails it creates or whatever it need to do autimatically. the file names are exactly the same.

yes, you can replace the originals as long as you preserve the folder and file structure. However, the dimensions of a pic are being stored in coppermine's database, so in order to make this fully working you'll have to manually edit the database using a tool like phpMyAdmin. Browse coppermine's "pictures" database table and edit the pwidth and pheight entries manually. If this is too much effort for you, you will have to delete the files and re-upload them. Make sure to backup (both files and db) before messing with the files and database.

I was worried about space but to be honest these are fairly small anyway and don't think I'll bother if I have to manually do them. I presumed that update the database would do it within
