Title: non existent user- shows as having album - newbie here
Post by: auroramae on October 26, 2005, 06:24:53 PM
I tried to search on this topic but haven't found anything.

I just installed coppermine and then bridged with SMF.

AWESOME!!!

Before I bridged I had a "test" user with an album to test permissions, uploading etc.

After the bridge the testuser does not exist but coppermine shows that there is a user album present, there are no photos in it.
The test user doesn't exist in the membership list.

Can you direct me where to go to clear this out? I'm assuming I'll need to go into the database.

Also, is there any easy way to just delete a user's albums instead of  deleting pictures or deleting the user altogether.  I am not seeing it.
probably a  database fix?

WOW  I can't believe I missed that post in my search.
The problem is similar  but not exactly the same.
There is no album to delete.

it just reports it on the front page.

Here's the link to the gallery if you'd like to see what I am referring to
http://ytownpc.com/cpg135/

I noticed that even when I had an album there I couldn't see it in the albums section.
It had no properties for me to edit.  It was just there and all Icould do was remove the picture i uploaded.
All that shows in the albums section is-
the main category I made with 8 albums for community photos
then it shows "my gallery"
then it shows "no category"
I tried to highlight an invisible entry at the top of both my gallery and no category and clicked delete just for the heck of it.

I also tried making the user galleries section a "child" of my other main gallery and it doesn't change what I can see to delete

I think I will make another fake album with the same username (testuser) as before and see what happens

Ok so I joined as testuser
made a a new album
uploaded a photo
the front page says now that there are 2 user albums - one with a picture in it
but when I click to view the user albums
it says none are there.

if I click on My gallery logged in as the testuser.
I see the album but the picture is not there.
EVEN though the front page says a photo has been added.

I broke the bridge and the test user album has now appeared.

The fix that is listed on the board to make the new version of SMF bridge to coppermine  didn't work for me.
It almost worked, but not completely.

I'll keep the programs separate for now.

Thanks for the redirection!

One last note...

I could view all of the admin pages but couldn't make changes until I changed my password.
Probably remnants of the bridge data...

the board still shows a phantom album even after the testuser was deleted.

put the test user back, then delete his album, then delete the test user. The unbridged admin account differs from the bridged admin account. You're mixing up a lot of stuff in your postings. Get rid of the user galleries, then have another go at the bridging.
