Title: Problems with users.
Post by: hmp on November 06, 2005, 05:25:23 PM
Hi
As admin i create a new user and give the new user adminrights and belonging to admin user group. But when i try to login as the new user it says "*** Couldn't log in. Try again ***" and i try again and again and after a while it says that my browser hasnt cookies on. But it does and i can login as admin. Another thing i tried was to enable that user can register them self and that way it worked to login but when i changed that user from registered to administrator i couldnt login anymore.

Whats the problem?

Why i want another user is because i dont want to have the name admin in my galleries as a folder with pictures in. Cant i just have Home/Galleries/ and then all my folders with my images?

Hope i made myself clear, sorry for my bad english.

post a link to your page and a non-admin test user account, so we can take a look at your cookie settings.

I can't log in using the username/password you specified. Your cookie settings look fine to me. Do as suggested: create the test user account.

please recheck, to me it looks like you create your users with blank passwords...

Hmm i did create my users with passwords but when i looked in the db with PHPmyAdmin there were no password for the newly created users (but thats for security reasons, am i wrong?). But i added passwords but it still doesnt work to login. Now i turned the "Allow new user registrations" on and then it works to login if i create my user that way...? Test for your self.

do you have on your local box an security app like Norton installed.
That's what GauGau wanted to ask. Some block private info, passwords etc except you tell them otherwise.
