Hello,
The block tries to show the actual file, example:

http://mywebsite.com/Coppermine/albums/uploads/thumb_dance_with_my_father_300.asx

Is there a way to either have the block ignore file types other than gif,jpg etc, or to have it use the default thumb used in Coppermine?

At this moment it is not yet available, perhaps in the next version.
