Title: What is breadcrumb ?
Post by: marcamillion on December 14, 2003, 03:30:27 AM
I am reading all this talk about edit breadcrumb this and breadcrumb that, but for starters, I have no clue exactly what breadcrumb is. All i want to be able to do is to add a link to my index/html from the gallery in the menu options along with all the other things. Top rated, most viewed etc. How do I do this ? Which file do I edit and so on ?

Hi marcamillion,

I had exactly the same question when I first joined here.  It is the navigation trail you can follow to go back where you came from.

when you go from home to say 'cat1', in the top of the table you should see the words 'Home>Cat1'.  when you then go to album1, you should see 'Home>Cat1>album1', so to go back to cat1 you click on that, to go to your home page you click on home etc.

I think I saw somewhere the name breadcrumb comes from a fairy story, where they left a trail of breadcrumbs so they could find their way back.
