I'm new to Coppermine and have a very basic question. When you load galleries to your site which includes numerous galleries do all the images reside in one database or does each gallery create and individual database. Sorry it's so basic a question but I didn't see the info on the site.
Thanks in advance.
Images are not stored in the database; only their locations/paths are. The images stay where you uploaded them.
Thanks so much for the quick reply. I can now see that I did not ask my question properly.
My server allows "x" number of databases. What I need to know if my site has many galleries of different subjects, does Coppermine do that all from one database? To make myself clear I'll add this description. I shoot lots of hawk images. I have a page for each species with a gallery of images of them on each one. I might have 20 different species of them on my site (along with man others). Does Coppermine do this utilizing one database or would each page with a gallery have it's own database?
Thanks again,
Jim
Coppermine uses only 1 database, no matter what you do with it. If you are short of databases, Coppermine can happily share a database with other scripts.
Thanks!
For each gallery, you just need to use a different prefix for the tables.
