Since I am not so good with updating Themes - any chance someone has or will update FiBlack3d for 1.4.x?

why don't you just follow the instructions in the theme upgrade guide (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/theme/index.html)?

I looked through that and it's a little to advanced for me.  I get totally lost once I get to the theme.php!
