is there anyway i can add my own thumbnail to my videos insteed of that same boring pic we use for videos
Yes, all you have to do is replace the correct file in the 'images' directory, i.e. thumb_avi.jpg, thumb_mov.jpg, thumb_mpg.jpg, thumb_mpeg.jpg, thumb_wmv.jpg etc.
in the future, RTFM before posting: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#cust_thmb

No, that will replace the default document thumbnails. You shouldn't monkey around with those images. Instead, you should read the documentation if you want to have a thumbnail that looks like your movie/document.

I believe you misunderstood me. I know that replacing files in the coppermine/image/ directory won't give you any thumbnails that look like your movie.
That wasn't what I thought cooluserguy wanted to do, I guess I misinterpreted the question. I thought he wanted to do a system-wide replacement of the thumbnail(s) used for video(s) (I did just that recently so maybe I had it fresh in mind), so I answered appropriately. The FAQ even says where the global thumbnails are located. Sure, I should've answered with a link to the FAQ instead, or asked exactly what he wanted to do, but hey - I'm just trying to help.
