Title: Assigning a thumbnail to a blank category(?)
Post by: robinna on December 18, 2005, 09:27:36 PM
Hi,
Here is my dilemma:
The site I upgraded (from 1.3.2) would like regional categories (no problem) with second tier categories and then albums within those categories. The parent category will be blank, as will the second tier category, as it's just used for sorting .... What the users would like is thumbnails to show up to show up in the main category but because it is blank, I don't see a way to add a thumbnail. Any suggestions?

I apologize if I'm going about this wrong way or I missed it.
thanks,
robinna

this is actually a missing feature: you can only have category thumbnails if an album that contains pics exists directly inside a category. Categories that only contain sub-category can't have a thumbnail reperesnting the category.

I was just looking for a similar feature and would like to suggest a workaround, something like a optional direct URL to a (thumbnail) image file. But I don't know how to code it myself.

We would have posted a fix or workaround if we knew it.
