Title: Coppermine and phpBB
Post by: rraisley on January 03, 2006, 03:11:52 AM
I installed Coppermine, and then set up the phpBB integration, which seems to use my forum database really well. However - I cannot get back in as an Admin. My admin username and password was, of course, set up before the integration. And worked fine. Then, I turned on the integration, but apparently it no longer uses my original admin login. So - I created a phpBB user with the same username and password as my Coppermine admin name and password, thinking it would take that, but it wouldn't.

What is the procedure for turning on the phpBB integration, yet maintaining access as an admin?

When requesting bridge support - mandatory! (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=24032.0)

Use your forum's admin account.

I thought I tried that before, but it did work now, so thanks.  ;-)

I have a question concerning users, though. Now that I have my forum members able to log in, do any users I enter in manually at the Coppermine admin Users screen work okay as well? It appears that they do, which I think is neat, but wanted to be sure how authentication worked with the phpBB integration.

Only accounts that exist in your forum can be used in Coppermine when bridged. You can't have some 'coppermine' users and some 'forum' users, they all have to be 'forum' users. You shouldn't be able to create users manually in Coppermine while bridged.
