I've been having a problem with an image that I've uploaded. There are white specks in certain areas of the image when the picture is displayed within a browser. Right click and save the image to your computer though, and the picture appears perfectly.

Does anyone have an idea as to what is causing this?

Not nice, is it. It seems to be happening, in varying degrees, in most pics, in the dark areas.
Does your server use GD1, GD2 or ImageMagick.
I'm using GD2 on my server. It's strange because the image appears fine when you download it, but is degraded in the browser. I can't imagine the problem being ImageMagick or GD because if that were the case, then the downloaded image would appear degraded also.
Let me know if there is any debugging that I can help out with.

You might not have noticed, but nearly all your photos have white dots where it is too dark. It seems to have something to do with the Giallo theme's css stylesheet: Find .image {
and remove the
FILTER: progid: dximagetransform.microsoft.shadow(color=#505050,direction=135,strength=6);
However, that's gonna cost you the shadow... So it's up to you. White dots or no shadows, choose one.
Are you set to GD2 in the config? I have heard of probs before when people have missed the option and its set to GD1. You prob have both installed so would still work but with worse quality.
I have both Mac and A few PC's and the white spots do not show up the I use Mac OS X with Safari. Strange but true.
