viewers to my coppermine gallery are asked to log in. I use http://www.res.iguanapress.net/gallery/ viewers are immediately taken to http://www.res.iguanapress.net/gallery/login.php and can not log is since they do not have an account. I set my gallery up some time ago and it worked fine. I did not know this until a recent visitor wrote to ask for a log access. Coppermine 1.4.2 is hosted by my web company.
Any help will be appreciated.

Seems like you used Fantastico, which didn't do a proper upgrade. I ran update.php and the gallery doesn't require a login now. I'll move this to the upgrades board.
Indeed, I did use Fantastico. Thanks, I will write to my hosting company and see if they can provide some help. I am not familiar with update.php
Thanks for you help. I appreciate it very much.

no need to ask your webhost, this is good learning and not too hard: download the cpg1.4.3 package (download link at top of this page), unzip it, read the upgrading section of the docs (docs folder, index file, link available at top of this page as well). Upgrading is pretty straightforward.
Thanks for the instructions GauGau, I will give it a whirl. - jim
Maybe you can help me. I did the same thing. Updated via Fantastico and ran into the same problem. Found out on this support site that there was a manual update to the 'Include' file and the 'Docs' file and tried that. Now I can not log in as an admin anymore. Seems like it can not see my login info anymore. Like my login and password are gone. How can I correct this? Thanks.
Fantastico is buggy and outdated. Update as suggested in the docs instead of using Fantastico. Post a link to your site. Replying to a thread that is marked as solved that deals with a different issue is not a bright idea, you should have started your own thread. However, stick to this thread now.
