Title: Coppermine Critical Error Message
Post by: AJMerritt on March 07, 2006, 04:49:09 PM
Hello

I really need someone's help.  My web hosting company iPowerweb shut down my mySQL database and when they turned it back on I cannot get into my Coppermine Photo Gallery.  Below is the error message I get.

Critical Error: There was an error while processing a database query.

Any sugguestions on how I can fix this?

enable debug_mode. If you can't log in as admin to enable debug_mode in coppermine's config screen, then use a tool like phpMyAdmin or similar, browse coppermine's config table and set "debug_mode" there manually from "0" to "1". This way, you will get a more meaningfull error message - post it here (the error message, not the debug_output). Leave notices turned off (as they are). For details, you might want to post a link to your site as well.

Hi,

I am also getting this same message, which only occured last week, prior to that everything worked OK.

I have enabled debug Mode in Config and get the following Debug & mySQL message :-

I told you not to post debug_output, but the actual error message only. You mustn't use cpg1.3.x with mysql5. Either downgrade mysql or upgrade from cpg1.3.x to cpg1.4.x

I'm sorry.

The actual message is mySQL error: Field 'description' doesn't have a default value"

Using 1.4.3 version and SQL 5.

Everything was working OK until last week whrn client wished to insert a new Album to a selected Catergory.

upgrade to cpg1.4.4 then. Do as I suggested and post a link to your site. If you have cpg1.4.x, then you shouldn't have posted in a board that deals with another coppermine version nor try to hijack someone else's thread.  In the future, please post on the proper support board!
