Koppermine is a KDE client for Coppermine Photo Gallery.
Koppermine allows you to upload multiple photos to your Coppermine installation and to add information for each photo (like title, description, and keywords).
It displays a list of categories and albums from your Coppermine installation and allows you to choose an album where you want to upload the photos.
Currently, uploads can be done only to public category albums.
Koppermine is currently in its Beta stage and the latest Beta 0.2 has been released on March 13th, 2006
Koppermine is now stable and we have released the second stable version 1.1 on April 17th 2006.
Also the API has been modified to support user uploads. (Previously only ADMIN's where able to upload using Koppermine)
You can download the API here (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=17097)
Koppermine will work only on Linux with KDE as Desktop

This is pretty sweet right here.
Talk about a handy gadget to have on a picnic. :D
Edit: I had to read the README files before asking dumb questions...
Is there an API that will work with bridge installation of Coppermine?
If i understand you correctly this is what the current version does, There is no need to have kde (even linux) on the machine where the gallery is installed. The program is a client side software i.e. you need to install it on your local machine and not on server and your local machine should have a KDE. And as you mentioned that you have KDE on your personal machine so you will be able to install and use this software. Check Requirements (http://koppermine.sourceforge.net/wikka.php?wakka=Requirements) page.

You should not edit your post. Instead write a new reply.
The answer to question is NO. The current API does not support bridged Coppermine installations.
It's sad that we have to repeat this on all announcement threads, although it should be quite obvious:
- Do not reply to any thread with unrelated issues
- Do not clutter announcement threads with individual support requests
- Do not edit out your initial posting, making all replies made to it look silly
We will delete all unrelated replies to this thread, which deals with exclusively with
Koppermine, the KDE desktop client for coppermine-driven photo galleries.
Things that we
would like to see on this thread is comments to the devs of Koppermine like "
great tool, I like it a lot" or similar.
Windows-Users: stay out of this thread - this is nothing you can nor will understand!
Split the unrelated replies from this thread into a separate one... cpg1.4 miscellaneous (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?board=54).

Do not dare to reply to this thread with Windoze issues unless you're looking for a troll-of-the-week medal ::)
That is fantastic, keep up the great work ^_^
Can't wait to try it out.
Well, very nice tool. Though I do have one question? Any plans for a gnome version ?
