Print Page - Activation Email problem

Title: Activation Email problem

When a user register on my photo gallery and a email activation is supposed to be sent, but my friend had been waiting for a few days, it doesn't work.

I can see there is SMTP email in Config page, do I need to set it and what to type on it.

Very gratefully for your help
