Title: Problem bridging Coppermine domain to forum domain
Post by: Robbie Sligar on April 26, 2006, 02:39:02 AM
I have a big problem getting my coppermine domain gallery to bridge with my forum domain. Is there any way I can do this? I am using smf 1.7 and need to bridge the two.

No such version as 1.7. Read the sticky thread on this board and post the requested information.

I need to know if I can bridge two different domains?

I have one domain in one database and the coppermine database at a different domain. I don't know how clearer I can make this.

www.karl-urban.com is the forum  Version SMF 1.7   That was integrated from a phpbb board.
www.karl-images.com is the Coppermine. This is on a different domain, different database. 1.4 version.

Help please? I would need to know what to put in order to get it to work.

Thank you.

You can't bridge across different domains since Coppermine would be unable to read the cookies set by the forum.

...as Nibbler suggested: there's no such thing as smf1.7, you probably meant smf1.0.7

Bridging across subdomains can't be done, or is difficult to do?

can't be done, as cookies can't be read across domains, and coppermine relies on being capable to read the cookies set by the app it gets bridged with.

Actual domains - no, subdomains - yes.
