Did you edit the index file with a wysiwyg editor? Get a fresh copy of the file from our site and re-upload with a regular FTP client, in ascii mode.

okay, thanks!  so when i do this:

Replace all your files (except include/config.inc.php) with fresh versions from the 1.4.5 download package.

It will not earse all of the pictures that I had on my gallery will it?  All I have to do is just down the package and earse all of the other files (except include/config.inc.php) and replace all of the ones earsed with the new files, right?

Also, there is another file (include/config.inc.php.sample) do I earse that one??

The sample file is just a sample file; you can safely overwrite it.  If you follow the upgrade instructions in the Coppermine Documentation, you'll be all set.

That being said, you should always backup your albums folder, your database, and your include/config.inc.php & anycontent.php files whenever you want to be sure you are safe.  (And you should do this once in a while for safety as well.)
