Title: trying to use alblist for a special album
Post by: ipoe on May 09, 2006, 10:47:11 PM
hello all,
i'm playing around with latest version (at the moment 1.4) and want to have only one album. this album should be visible on startpage
now i've created one album called "public_folder" and no categories, so this album is not assigned to any category. however, i have to click on the album to see the content, is it possible to access the content of this album on startpage like lastup or random without clicking? and define the rows like  in lastup,2 or random,1??

thanks a lot,

roman

This sounds like a good plugin job.   :)

A quick & dirty (and maybe or maybe not sufficient) way to do this would be to change your Config setting for "Home" to the album's URL (e.g. thumbnails.php?album=1), which changes your "Home" link on the top bar to point to the album.  Then, rename index.php to index-original.php (or something like that) and create a new index.php that merely redirects to the album's URL so the "Home" link in the breadcrumb and users first coming to your site arrive at your album.  I'm not sure if that would do it or not as I haven't tested it.  Those are my quick thoughts.

I think it would be cool to create a block like you suggest for selected album(s) to place in the "content of the main page".  If I ever think it's cool enough, I might try to code it.  (But don't hold your breath, please.)  If you have the PHP skills to pay the bills, you might try it yourself and share your code once done.
