ok, I have the same problem as like a million of these posts and I have spent the last 2 hours looking through them trying to find my solution. I am getting this error:
Impossible to move polaris.jpg to albums/userpics/ !

I have set it to only upload one file and put it in debug mode for everybody.
I have checked, double checked and triple checked that my permissions are set correctly. And they are.
I have added the silly safe mode code in the config.php file just in case.
I don't know what else to do. I am really sorry if I am being dumb.
