Title: Large Images
Post by: scareya on May 21, 2006, 06:00:54 AM
I installed Coppermine and I must say it's really great.

My Question:
The users of my coppermine gallery upload high quality images that are huge files (more than 1.0 MB).  When the user uploads and image of high quality and goes to view it - the image takes a long time to load.

I was wondering whether there is a way to have the image (not the thumbnail) viewed as a 800 x 600 image rather than the 2048 x 1536 dimensions of the file.  And if the user wants the high quality version...he/she can just click a link to download the high quality version.

How would I do this?

Thanks.

please read the docs
http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#admin_picture_thumbnail

you need to enable 'create intermediate pictures'

if you enable the config option Stramm has refered to, don't forget that the intermediate pics need to be created for the pics that already reside in your gallery. Use the admin tools to create them.
