Title: Can't login after upgrade - 'Selected user does not exist!"
Post by: lkcn on May 21, 2006, 05:59:02 PM
I know this question has been asked many times, but after searching around I couldn't find a situation that is the same as mine...

I had a CPG1.3.2 integrated with IPB1.3.1 that worked well.

When I upgraded it to 1.4.6 (uploaded all the files, ran update.php), I couldn't login. The login page always says 'Selected user does not exist!', without prompting me to input any username/password. You can see it here: http://myfoto.lkcn.net

I've cleared cookies and cache, and tried again, same error message.

There are two existing users in the 'users' table (there was setup before I integrated the CPG1.3.2 with IPB). I have also changed the 'allow_user_registration' of the 'config' table to 1 so that I can register a new user. While registration was successful, login had the same error message.

you need to login with the username/ password combination you used to setup coppemine and not the one for IPB

if you've forgotten it you can use the password reminder or directly look it up in coppermines users table with a tool like phpmyadmin

My problem is that it does not give me a chance to login. Whenever I go to login page, before I can do anything, the error message comes out.

I re-installed CPG1.4.6. Well I just removed the include/config.inc.php, and ran install.php, built it on a new database. And this is what happened. No fainted idea what's going on here...
