Hi,
Searched for this error and couldn't find so hope I am not repeating a board.
When I am carrying out the initial steps on install.php, I complete all the details as required, hit Let's go and get this error:
Could not create a mySQL connection, please check the SQL values entered
MySQL error was : Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
Any ideas, thanks in advance.

the error message is quite common and has been asked for very often already (search results (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?action=search2;search=MySQL%20error%20was%20connect%20to%20local%20MySQL%20server%20through%20socket)). This is not something that can be fixed in Coppermine, you'll have to ask your webhost for support.
