Title: the setting "Users can can have private albums"...
Post by: test on January 20, 2004, 12:19:28 AM
....doesn't work.

...if you set it to "no", users can still have private albums.

Note: the "can can" typo isn't from me...it's actually how it is on the page

if you have set it to "yes" in the first place and there have been some users who registered and created user galleries for them, then switching "can have private albums" to "no" won't delete their albums, but newly registered users shouldn't be able to create new ones.
If this is not the case, please post a link to yur site (in fact, you should always post a link to your site if you're looking for support).

P.S. Thanks for pointing out the typo, I fixed it in the dev and stable version

Oops...sorry...the reason i didn't post a URL was 'cuz the site is under construction and i'm still testing around, but you can see the gallery here (http://ratemyzit.com/gall/) if you want to take a look.

...and I just registered a new user (test2) while the setting was on "NO", and I could still make a user gallery.

Problem solved.
It seems as though as long as there are users with user galleries, other (new) users can also create them. So i deleted the accounts with user galleries and in the group manager changed the rights for "registered" users so that they couldn't have "personal gallery". (what has higher priority for "normal" users? the setting in config ("Users can can have private albums ") or under group management ("Can have a personal gallery")), or are those things not the same ?
