Title: Category and Thumbnail help
Post by: ladyjobi on June 03, 2006, 05:32:05 AM
I am trying to figure out how to do this:

On the main page I want only the Category to show. once inside each category I want it to display the albums only. Once inside the individual album I want all the thumbnails in that album to show. Can someone please help?

I think each of your requests can be done with configuration settings.

On the main page I want only the Category to show.
Under "Album List View", set "Number of levels of categories to display" to 1 or whatever you want.  Then set "Show first level album thumbnails in categories" to NO.

Quoteonce inside each category I want it to display the albums only.
This is the normal operation, if I understand you correctly.

QuoteOnce inside the individual album I want all the thumbnails in that album to show.
Under "Thumbnail view", set "Number of columns on thumbnail page" & "... rows ..." to large enough numbers to cover your albums.

Ok I did that and it just made it worse. You can take a look at my gallery at www.ultimatevanessa.soelite.com/gallery . Is there something I am doing wrong?

It looks fine to me, doing what you said in the first post.  The only thing I would change is "Number of columns for the album list" under "Album list view" on the config panel - I would change it to a larger number than 1, let's say 3 or 4.

Post a deeper link on your site that shows the problem you have, clearly describing that problem.
