i have a categorie with few sub-cats. In the parent categorie is now album though in the sub cats are some.
In can't assign any thumb to the parent cat.
In this thread (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=10959.0) i read that there it is not possible to assign a thumb to a categorie in which is no album. The thread is from 2004...
Is there any chance to do in the 1.4.8 (I updated today)?

The information from the thread you refered to is still valid: you can't assign category thumbnails for categories that do not contain albums.

I followed the instructions but the thumb didn't appear...
I filled in the Pic-ID into the "thumb"-cell of the categorie-table - nothing changed....
the album where the thumb is in needs to be visible
The album is visible to all... And the album is in a subcategory of that one whose thumb I want to change. --> www.schwarzzeug.de Category "Privat". The Pic is in "Privat" --> "Kram" --> "Sonstiges" --> "Kram".
